A 24 hour baby haven that provides 24/7 loving care for abandoned, abused and neglected babies.

 

The main objective and vision of the home is to care for Abandoned and Unwanted Babies from nu-born until approximately 12 months as a place of safety.

The Mission of the Home is to facilitate a safe and neat home environment where the babies can find a place of love, care, and protection and where they can experience true motherly nourishment physically, spiritually, and emotionally through full time qualified and trained are givers on a 24/7 basis.

 

OUR CAREGIVERS

Nurturing Infant Caregivers with over 7 years’ track record of handling the personal and emotional needs of infants. Pleasant by nature with an inherent love for children, aimed at providing them with physical and emotional security.

Our Caregivers’ daily duties includes but are not limited to:
• Deep insight into performing basic child care duties including bathing, changing diapers, feeding and washing
• Highly skilled in cooking and preparing basic meals in accordance to the individual needs of each infant
• Known for providing infants with enriching experiences and activities which go beyond basic care
• Exceptionally well-versed in handling emergency situations by employing expertise in CPR and First Aid

 

All our caregivers are qualified First Aiders and Caregivers with certificates from the respective Training organisations.

Our Management Team

Merencia Scholtz

Is a self-motivated administration professional with 18 years of experience in small and large, local as well as blue chip companies. Her prior job experiences have provided her with exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills. She prides herself on my management, problem solving, book keeping and technical skills.

Currently she is the co-owner of El-Shammah Home For Abandoned Babies, a Non Profit Organisation which employs 8 staff members and her responsibilities  include office administration, risk management, clerical organization, managing financial transactions and petty cash, processing payrolls, website and email maintenance. She’s an accredited Business Advisor with IBASA and have graduated from Cape Town University of Technology in 1998 in Small Business Management.She pursued her studies in Purchasing and Supply at Damelin in Braamfontein where she passed with distinction and was given a Merit Award for her achievement. She has always been passionate about studying and attended several workshops and courses in Entrepreneurship.

ALLISTAIR SCHOLTZ

A customer focused and articulate individual who possesses a friendly and personable approach along with strong time management skills and the ability to listen carefully to client requirements. Allistair has a a real thirst to succeed and boasts a demonstrated track record of initiative, creativity and motivation.

He has the entrepreneurial spirit required to work in highly flexible, rapidly changing, ambiguous work environments. Having insatiable energy to produce results and being able to quickly build outstanding customer relationships, he would be a valuable addition to any ambitious company.

Right now he is the co-owner of El-Shammah Home For Abandoned Babies, a hardworking professional versed in all aspects of running a successful NPO, including opening and closing procedures, banking, merchandising, and recruiting. Effectively motivate employees to performance excellence and fosters a team environment focused on group success.
